Search no more! The two books Father Dudley recommended in his April 27 sermon are available in The Book Cellar! In The Reason For God, Pastor Timothy Keller challenges the backlash against faith, and points to “the true path and purpose of Christianity.” The Dawkins Delusion? by Alister McGrath, a molecular biologist and former atheist, is a refutation of the best-selling book The God Delusion by another atheist scientist, Richard Dawkins.
- Our new gift items will delight you! We have jewelry, crosses and prayer books in many bindings and colors as gifts for confirmation, baptism and graduation.
Come See!
- Baptisms are coming up on May 4, and The Book Cellar has lots of precious baptism gifts for children. Lovely jewelry abounds! Shop early for a cross for confirmation, or a jewelry gift for Christmas.
- If the word "evangelism" makes the palms of your hands turn icy, here is a book for you. Bill Hybels, the pastor of Willow Creek Church, has written a very readable, even entertaining book on "evangelism" entitled Just Walk Across the Room. The dust jacket says, "It has nothing to do with methods and everything to do with taking a genuine interest in another human being". The Book Cellar has this book in stock, and it will warm your heart (and your hands) as you realize it is really about being a friend.
- Are you a skittish Bible scholar? Does Paul seem too difficult to understand? We have good news for you! The Book Cellar has stocked helpful and very readable paperback commentaries on several of Paul’s letters by Tom Wright (whom you might know also as N.T. Wright, the Bishop of Durham.) The books are entitled Paul for Everyone. Each covers one or more of Paul’s letters, which really were originally written for all to understand!
