Cuba

CommitmentRepresentativeRepresentativeServant

In Cuba, St. Peter's partners with San Pedro, our companion parish, located in Zorrilla, a tiny town in the province of Matanzas. Though the town is too small to be recognized even by Google satellites, the hearts of the people that live there are enormous. The relationships that we have built over the years with the people of our companion parishes are very important to us.  When we are in Cuba, we participate in worship services, many church events, family gatherings, make home visits and have many fellowship opportunities with our extended Cuban family.

Anyone desiring to make the trip to Cuba should be actively involved in the work of the church and have a heart for mission work in terms of outreach and for spreading the gospel. Cuba is a beautiful country and the people are warm and friendly. We have never experienced any problems with the police or military and have never feared for our safety.

In order to travel to Cuba, the church has a license that allows us to go for religious activity. Under the terms of this license, only individuals affiliated with St. Peter’s Anglican Church are allowed to travel under this license.

St. Peter's shield - small Opportunties to Serve

  • The church has a new farm whose goal is to to generate enough income to support and expand the basic needs of three churches and several missions. The farm currently has cows that produce milk for the government and for the church feeding programs. There is much work to do on this farm and our church is committed in helping this farm be successful.
  • Each year St. Peter’s has either held a summer camp or a VBS for the youth of our companion churches.  During the camp, our team lead bible studies, help strengthen the faith of the Cuban youth while serving as Christian role models.  Many of our youth are reunited with the same Cuban youth from the year prior, thus strengthening their relationships.
