Give
Offer to God A Sacrifice of Thanksgiving
|
Dear Parish Family:
We kicked off our Annual Stewardship Program on Sunday, September 20th, and brought it to its culmination at the Anniversary Celebration on October 11th. The Scripture passage we are using this year for the focus of our campaign is from Psalm 50: “Offer to God a sacrifice of Thanksgiving.” Sometimes the act of thanksgiving is itself sacrificial. The recent economic downturn has had an effect on all of us, yet to rise above our struggles and offer thanks to God is an act of sacrificial trust.
We stepped out in faith to make a commitment to the Capital Campaign; I hope we will show that same trust in the commitment we make for stewardship in the coming year. As we prepare to build a church building at the other end of Thomasville Road it is so important that we don’t allow our current ministries to falter. Children, college students, adults, and needy families in our community depend on the life and ministry of this church.
The budget year at St. Peter’s began on November 1st (Our fiscal year is NOT based on the calendar year). Thank you for supporting the work of our Lord through St. Peter’s Church!
By God’s Grace,
Eric D. Dudley+
There are several ways to give:
-
Stewardship: the St. Peter's yearly operating budget
-
Building Fund : We still need help in building the new St. Peter's church, having raised $5.5 million of the $8 million requested. However, if you are so called, your donation is welcome!
-
St. Peter's Foundation: The Foundation as a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization, is set up to receive gifts of all kinds, including cash, stock, or real estate. The easiest way to give is to remember St. Peter’s in your will.
-
Financial Peace University: Take Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University course this fall and learn how to live "debt free!" You may even find room in your budget for stewardship!
- Talent and Spiritual Gifts: Think that "giving" refers to money only? Well, think again. Your time, talent, and spirtual gifts are just as valuable.
