Grace Mission

graphicGrace Mission is a worshiping community located at the corner of Brevard and Bronough streets on the edge of Frenchtown. The congregation is a very diverse one. Approximately  50% are male, and 70%  are un- or underemployed. Many live in the homeless shelter. Unlike a mission church, which is expected to be self-supporting at some time in the future, an outreach mission is expected to be supported by other congregations and the diocese.

VERY IMMEDIATE NEEDS at Grace Mission
Help for Grace Mission
Grace Mission is in need of some help on these Friday mornings: July 11, August 1 and August 8, from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. Sample tasks might be setting up weekend platters, folding laundry, putting up food from the truck or setting the altar. They also need a few teams (or individuals who could join a team) to serve on Tuesday evenings. You set the frequency: one time, once a month or even quarterly. Teams come from 4:30 to 7:00 pm and set up, serve and clean up after dinner. Call Kathy Watkins at 508-4474 (Kathy’s cell), or 224-3817 (Grace’s main line.)

For more information contact Kathy Watkins: kwatkins4@comcast.net.

** Friday helpers. If 4 folks could help then each could have just once a month. 9:30-1:00. Able to lift 20 lbs.
** New need: Tues evenings 4:30 - 7:00 to set-up, serve and clean-up Tues evening meal. One or two folks would be great. This also could be split into once or twice/month.
** The cool weather has prompted requests for coats and blankets at Grace Mission. Any donations of gently used or new winter coats and blankets are greatly appreciated, as we currently have none. Because of our limited storage space we can only take these 2 items. Please call Grace Mission if you would like to drop off either of these needed items.

On-call Sunday Serving Teams: 9:00-1:00. These teams would be on call should one of the lay ministry teams not be able to fulfill their commitment. Usually a minimum of a week's notice. Teams clean-up breakfast, set-up, serve and clean-up lunch. It is asked that the team also join our 10:30 service.

Amazing Grace DVD
Copies of the (should-be-award-winning!) DVD “Amazing Grace”,  which also includes an 18 minute version, are available free of charge in the St. Peters Book Cellar. The DVD was professionally produced by our very own Tony and Kathy Ciarlarello, and offers a wonderful insight into the work of the Holy Spirit at Grace Mission Church!  Those parishioners who are interested in learning more about Grace Mission or possibly volunteering there should pick up a copy of the DVD and share it with a friend.

St. Peter's shield - small “Society of Grace”

Throughout Anglican history, small groups committed to supporting missions and missionary activities have formed as "societies." In keeping with that tradition, The Society of Grace is being formed at St. Peters to be a network of parishioners committed to the ministries of Grace Mission Church and its congregation. The Society seeks to increase the awareness of Grace Mission and its ministries, and to promote participation at Grace Mission in worship or program activity. Anyone interested in getting involved in the ministries of Grace Mission is encouraged to become a "missioner" in The Society of Grace. There is a wide range of needs and opportunities for those willing to help. For more information, please contact Kurt Spitzer at 561-0904.
