St. Peter’s Church is also involved with local missionaries at Porch de Salomon in Guatemala. Porch de Salomon is a response to God calling a family into a life of love and service in Panajachel, Guatemala. They hope to bring the passion of the first century church to those who live in a 21st century world. In Acts 5, Solomon’s Porch is described as a place for the believers to meet and carry out their healing ministries and a sending point for them to take Christ’s message into the world.

College Ministry Spring Break March 2010

The college ministry spring break mission to Guatemala touched over 300 lives and changed a struggling family of 6. Partnering with Lloyd and Melanie Monroe of Porch de Salomon, two projects were undertaken: building a home for a family currently living in a chicken coop and a daily medical clinic. The building project involved digging and pouring the foundation for Alberto and Lucia’s indigenous family. The money the team raised paid for the entire home to be completed. In less than a week of sweat and fellowship, two parents suffering from the grasp of alcohol, 4 beautiful children, and a handful of college students had their hearts and minds transformed. Sharing the gospel, prayer and personal relationship led to the alcoholic father to accept help, and led 4 children to a closer relationship with the Lord. Meanwhile, the medical clinic blessed and treated over 300 people with medications procured in the US thanks to the help of the St. Peter's Foundation.

“Right before evening devotional on Friday night, Fr. John, Quinn, Tim, Evan and I run up the main street through town, following the candles and sounds of shuffling feet that mark the way. In front of us, supported on the shoulders of 30 congregants, was a figure of Christ bearing the Cross. About 300 people followed and surrounded it as it made its way up the main street. Watching the reverence and devotion of these people as they chanted prayers in unison unnerved and inspired me. It is an image that will stay with me for a long time, and compels me to learn more about my Savior and His journey to trial, death, and resurrection.” Josh Weinstein

“We weren't originally supposed to go to Santa Catarina, we were suppose to go to another village, but a death happened the day before in the community, so the funeral was taking place at the church where we were supposed to have the clinic. A 60 year woman walked in to be seen and told me that she had been in pain with different ailments for quite some time, but she had never done anything about them. However, this morning she woke up and said to herself, I am going to walk today until I find a clinic that can help me; she lived in a village about 6 km away. As she was passing through, she heard that there was going to be a clinic that day. What a blessing that God had moved us to a different village! It showed me that God is bigger than what we think, and he truly is guiding our paths and orchestrating our lives everyday.” Jessica Craft
