Psalm 145:10-18 – A Psalm of Praise
I love the Psalms of David because they are full of David’s passion for God and speak of his desire to know God intimately and personally. This particular Psalm is about the majesty of the Almighty God and His goodness towards us. Because God is gracious in all He does for us, we, the faithful followers, have a responsibility to fulfill as well. As faithful followers, we do not keep God’s mighty deeds and all His majestic works to ourselves, but are to share with everyone and let them know about the mighty God we serve.
We are to speak up about God’s works of mercy and love and what He has accomplished in us and in those we love. After all, we are the living proof, the evidence, of his love and mercy because we have been redeemed through His son, Jesus Christ, and now have a genuine, intimate relationship with God. If that isn’t enough, just think about the times when we’ve felt sad or depressed and God has lifted our spirits and made us smile again. There have been times when we’ve been troubled and weighed down with difficulties. We called on God and He heard and answered our prayers. God has been our hope in those times and has walked with us through the valleys and has rejoiced with us on the mountain tops. He has been the lifter up of our heads and has generously provided for our spiritual, physical and material needs. I have heard it said that God is at His best when we have felt our worst. God has always lived up to His end of the bargain. Have we?
Living Out Lent: Today and every day let us raise our voices in praise and acknowledge the great works He has done and continues to do in our lives. Let us praise Him, sing songs about Him and to Him, and tell everyone about His remarkable love for us. For we have seen His goodness first hand through the gift of His son, Jesus Christ, and know how great our God is.
