The mission of St. Peter's Youth Ministry is to shape young people into disciples of Jesus Christ who understand their place in God's story, who depend upon God's loving power and grace to sustain them throughout their lives, and who love others as a response to God's love for them. As a parish we encourage the Christian formation of the youth and their families through worship, fellowship, servanthood, prayer, and Bible study.

Focus: The Gospel of Mark
FOCUS: Becoming Agents in the Kingdom of God: A Season in the Gospel of Mark
We sometimes think of Mark as the short, sweet Gospel that isn’t as challenging or sophisticated as Luke’s, Matthew’s or John’s. We’ll read Mark together this year to see something very different – the message of Mark is radical, world-capsizing, and unlike anything the world had ever heard or will ever hear! We expect to be changed by a careful and deep reading of Mark’s Gospel this year into true agents of God’s Kingdom.
Youth Ministry Kick Off
Sunday, August 29
7:00-8:30 pm at the Church
All 6th-12th graders, parents, leaders and volunteers will join together at the church for a night of food, fun and fellowship (and free tshirts!) We’ll gather for a time of celebration over the year that has passed and then look forward to the exciting things God has in store for us in the year ahead. Meet the leaders, receive and give needed information, and discover what’s new on the horizon for St. Peter’s Youth Ministry in 2010-11!

A weekend with Dr. Steve Gerali
October 22 - 24
This Fall we’ll be blessed to be visited by Dr. Steve Gerali, author of How To Stay Christian in High School and a host of books about living for Jesus in the midst of a culture of sexuality, violence and depression. Students (8th-12th grade) will be with Steve at St. Teresa Beach on Friday night and Saturday morning and all of the adults of our parish will be invited to be with Steve on Saturday night for a frank and open discussion of effective parenting/mentoring of our children in a dangerous and threatening age. On Sunday morning, Dr. Gerali will bring God’s Word to us to cap a weekend that’s sure to be enriching. See our Youth Beach Retreat page for comments from folks who've heard Steve speak!

Our next Dynamos weekend will be December 3-5, 2010. Students 9th grade and above who have never been are invited to become Candidates. Former Candidates may apply to serve on Team. All of the applications are on our Diocese Dynamos website. It is indeed a joyous weekend – full of fun and surprises and a deep sense of God’s presence!
